In just five years, the Brobdingnagian Bards have made an one of the most-astounding impacts on the Celtic music world through hard-work, dedication to the music, and savvy ability to promote themselves. They perform a mix of Irish drinking songs, Scottish folk songs, filk and instrumental fantasy music on the autoharp, recorder and mandolin which they dubbed The Original Celtic Renaissance. The Austin Chronicle calls them "masters of traditional folk" as they dominated the world's largest free music portal, MP3.com. There alone, they earned over five million mp3s downloaded, making them the #1 Celtic band on that website with out the help of label!
Their latest CD, Memories of Middle Earth, features sixteen songs inspired by JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and the hit song off the album, "Tolkien (The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings)" has had over a million MP3s downloaded since it's initial release in 2000. Their music earn critical acclaim from fans and critics, but it is their live performance that stands out in most folks minds. The Brobdingnagian Bards are friendly and jovial on and off stage and engage their listeners in the culture of Ireland and Scotland, while making them laugh to contemporary parodies and filks. It's a musical experience that shouldn't be missed.
The music of the Brobdingnagian Bards is like homegrown, musical therapy. So experience the difference today!

Comments: One of the highlights of Dragon*Con in Atlanta every year is the appearance of The B Bards! I have nearly all of their cd's and play them regularly. They are lots of fun and very talented guys. I'm very pleased that I can request them here at Highlander Radio. The only thing that makes me sad is that I can't request their song "Do Virgins Taste Better." Real Men Wear Kilts!

In fact, one of the CD contests we did for the Bards went to Moscow, Russia and we included the "Real Men Wear Kilts" bumper sticker. Response: That's cool!
